DAIKIN

A global leader in heating and air conditioning based in Osaka, Japan, Daikin Industries, Ltd., chose Waller, Texas, to construct its largest factory to date. The company produces heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) products primarily for the U.S. and Canadian markets, bringing huge investments and job opportunities to this Houston suburb.

Just outside of Houston, Daikin Texas Technology Park (DTTP) is one of the nation’s most impressive manufacturing facilities. The campus opened in 2017 after more than $500 million in construction costs and investments. The facilities’ operations not only include production but also marketing, research and development, and customer support services to support Daikin’s operations in North America.

“Texas is an important part of the Schwab family, and we’re glad to put another stake in the ground here. We’re very optimistic about where we’re headed as a company and our future here in Texas.”
“While our facility is awe-inspiring, our People Centered Management program allows us to ensure that all employees help us reach our full potential to ensure delivery of the best products and support services to our customers. Daikin is a leader in innovative manufacturing and employee engagement.”

Today, the Daikin campus is one of the largest facilities in the nation and globally. With approximately 4.2 million square feet, the manufacturing center produces cutting-edge HVAC products for both residential and commercial use. Daikin acquired Goodman Global in 2012 and began construction of the bold and innovative facility in 2015.

The factory portion of the facility has adopted some of the latest technologies, making it a model facility in business and manufacturing centers worldwide. Daikin has incorporated sustainable practices into its Texas campus, part of the company’s larger Environmental Vision 2020, which includes reducing greenhouses gasses and engaging with more environmentally sound manufacturing.

The U.S. is the largest market – and birthplace – of air conditioning, and Daikin’s move to Texas was a strategic step to consolidate its operations in a single, more efficient site. Daikin ensures that its facilities offer local talent opportunities for development, while also participating in the local community.
