Texas claimed another lead spot in the top 5 in CNBC’s annual Top States for Business rankings in 2021, thanks to a number of factors, including its robust workforce, strong economy, cost of doing business, and access to capital.
Texas ranked #4 on the list, ahead of states like California, New York, New Jersey, Georgia and Florida.
Since CNBC established the rankings in 2007, Texas has never finished below the top 5 states. This year, Texas was No. 4.
According to the rankings, Texas was No. 1 in workforce; No. 3 in access to capital, No. 5 in economy, and No. 10 for cost of doing business.
In addition, during 2021 Texas won its 9th Governors Cup; was selected No. 1 State for Business By Chief Executive Magazine; and was recognized as the No. 1 exporting state in the nation for the 19th consecutive year. Texas is also the world’s 9th largest economy.
